Mr Jeremy Hoffman is a Buckinghamshire-based Consultant Eye Surgeon with recognised expertise in diseases that affect the front of the eye including corneal problems such as keratoconus, pterygium, allergic eye disease, corneal infections, blepharitis and dry eyes. He also specialises in cataract and refractive surgery. He is a leading expert in corneal infections (microbial keratitis).
Mr Hoffman trained across London's most prestigious teaching hospitals, including Moorfields Eye Hospital, The Western Eye Hospital (Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust), and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. He has spent over five years researching fungal corneal infections at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, including multi-national clinical trials. This award-winning research led to a PhD. Mr Hoffman undertook additional fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in Corneal, Refractive and External Eye Diseases.
Mr Hoffman’s NHS practice is at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, across the Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospital sites. He is lead for the Corneal and Emergency Eye Diseases Service
Mr Hoffman has over 40 academic publications and has presented research internationally including in Lisbon, Dar-es-Salaam, Athens, Kathmandu, and Kampala. He has received numerous prizes and academic awards for his work, including a competitive grant from the Wellcome Trust.
